 UNDER GRADUATE COURSES

The three year BA/B.Sc. Degree programmes are divided into three parts. Of these, Part 1 English and Part 11 Second Language (which may be a choice between Malayalam and Hindi in normal cases) are common to all the B.A/B.Sc. courses and are to be taken during the first two years. Part 111 comprises the Optional Papers in the respective disciplines and their Subsidiary Subjects.

The subsidiary subjects are offered during the first two years of the Degree Programme and the examinations will be completed by the end of the 11nd Year. The study of the main subject will be spread over the three years of the course work. POST GRADUATE COURSES

Two year Post Graduate Course are offered by five departments. There are examinations at the end of each semester consisting of six months duration. Six of the Post Graduate Departments of the college are also research centres which offer facilities for research programmes leading to the award of Ph.D degree. The College offers the following Add-on Courses aided by the University Grants Commission.

• Communicative English (attached to Dept of English),

• Communicative Hindi (attached to Dept. of Hindi) and

• Visual Communication (attached to Dept. of English)

• Travel and Tourism (attached to Dept. of History; Sanctioned in 2007-'08)

• Medical Lab Technology [MLT] (attached to Dept. of Zoology; Sanctioned in 2007-'08)

Mar Thoma College Institute of Computer Sciences

This institute, with up-to-date infrastructure, functions in the premises of Mar Thoma College with the aim of imparting first grade computer education and computer literacy for all. Various courses like PGDCA (both regular and part time), Computer Fundamentals, Operating Systems, Basic and Cobol Programming, Systems and Analysis Design, Programming, FoxPro, Visual Basic, RDBMS, Oracle, Object oriented programming in C++, Web designing etc. are offered by the Institute to suit the needs and convenience of both college and other regular students.
